Monsterpocalypse is a tabletop minitures game for 2 people. Each has a giant monster (think Godzilla etc) and the aim is to be the player with the last monster standing. Killing the opponent's units, or destroying buildings can give your monster a boost! Rules are available to download from the wesbite now (http://monsterpocalypsegame.com/downloads/Monsterpocalypse-rulebook.pdf, beware, its 17M), so you can start plotting.

Monsterpocalypse will be launched in October, and Infinitas will be running 3 events for it. We are waiting for firm dats of when the products will be in store, so we can schedule the events, but we expect to do 2 Thursday evening and 1 Saturday event. These will be on alternate days to the other regular in store events. I'll post again when we confirm dates.

There will be some prize support from Privateer Press, of rare Hyper form monsters.

We'd love to have an idea how many people are interested in coming along to the events, even if just to see what the silliness is about (I expect many laughs out of this one). Drop us an email or post a reply here to give us a heads up.

Starting items are available for pre-order

Players will need to BYO monster + units and dice. The starter kit has minimum figures and dice for a single player to play. If you want to wait until the day of the event/s to get some figures to play, please let us know, so we can make sure we keep sufficient stock levels.

Seems that the link to the rules is dead :-(

Do you have a working link, or can you make the rules available to download from the forum?

Seems the rules have been taken down for some reason. I have a downloaded copy here, but I have no idea how to upload to the forums. This is a copyof the rulebook that is in the starter kit. Fingers crossed they should arrive Friday!

Our local Press Ganger brought in some figures from the set (come in to have a look), and I have now played a game with under-minimum figure levels. The game is fun, with a full (or at least larger) complement of units promising to make the decision making a lot harder. We had enough figures that we could activate, move and attack with all units on each Unit turn, and full attack with the monster each alternate turn. A small unit complement (we had 3 each and only 2 buildings total) means it's much harder to get power dice to use for your monster, and holding buildings or power points is more than slightly challenging. our game went for about 2 hours, with our first 5-10 turns probably 2-5 minutes each, whereas our later turns were only taking a minute or so each, once we had a better feel for what we were doing.

So, back to the events... We will run the October 23rd session as a demo. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to play before turning up for the tournament events.

Well, we had demos in store last night, with thanks to Ed and Stephen for bringing figures for people to play with. Following the demos, we had the fun of opening some boosters and then the trading began! We have a few left, and are expecting more next week.

Note that the time for next event has change to 5.30pm start. There will be 2-3 rounds (depending on time taken for games to finish). There will be an entry fee of $5, which will go towards the cost of some boosters to be used as prizes. Prizes will be booster draft, so everyone who enters gets at least one figure extra to go home with (win, lose or draw).

Players are welcome to trade figures before or after the event. As the accessory packs are not yet released, it is encourgaed that you have some (removeable) small sticker you can place somewhere that won't obscure any stats. This will reduce the chance of figures getting mixed up during play.

There is a good detailed review of Monsterpocalypse on episode 17 of the D6 Generation podcast. The D6 guys discuss the game mechanics, along with various strategies and their overview of the game.
